Realme 5s launched: Specifications and features

Realme 5s has been officially launched in India with some decent specifications and features. It will tackle Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, Nokia 6.1 Plus and Samsung Galaxy M30. Blue, purple, and red colors are revealed for the users.

It is one of the awaited phone because of some leaks. Two RAM and storage variants are revealed for this phone and both look good at this pricing. The first variant comes with the 4 GB RAM and 64 GB Storage and its price is ₹9,999($141). Another variant has 4 GB RAM and 128 GB internal storage and it comes at the price of ₹10,999($155). This will be sold on Flipkart.

It supports the dual-Sim phone and a dedicated memory card slot. You also get dual-VoLTE support. 3.5mm jack is available to use the earphones and it has a MicroUSB 2.0 port. A fingerprint sensor is placed on the rear side and it has a massive 5,000 mAh battery, which supports 10W quick-charging.

Like most of the phones, it also comes with a large display. It has a 6.5 inches display and it is an HD+ display, which comes with 720×1600 pixel resolution. The aspect ratio is 20:9, which gives you a long display. It has an IPS LCD display, which is decent. It is a massive display but the resolution is low and you will also feel that while using the display.

You get Android 9 Pie, which is good but Color OS 6 also comes in it, which can be said a drawback. Latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 11nm SoC is used in this phone with the max 2 GHz clock speed. Adreno 610 will handle all the Graphics but this SoC is not fully made for the gaming.

It has four cameras on the rear side and those are 48+8+2+2 MP camera sensors. The 48 MP is the main sensor and it is a Samsung GM1 sensor. You get an f/1.8 aperture and it comes with the PDAF technology. The 8 MP sensor will capture the ultra-wide shots with f/2.2 aperture. First, 2 MP sensor is a depth sensor with f/2.4 and another 2 MP sensor will capture 4cm macro shots with f/2.4. This can record 4K videos and 1080P videos at 30 FPS.

On the front side, you get a 13 MP camera sensor with f/2.0 aperture and there is no physical flash.

Should you even consider this phone with these specifications and features?

This is an upgraded variant of Realme 5, which was launched recently. There was no need but it has been launched to tackle Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, Nokia 6.1 Plus, and Samsung Galaxy M30.

So here is the verdict, you can easily find better displays than this phone. RAM is decent and internal storage is truly impressive. Cameras are also good but MicroUSB 2.0 is a drawback.
